Job Description:
The Commercial Banking line of business delivers extensive industry knowledge, local expertise and dedicated service to more than 24,000 global clients, including corporations, municipalities, financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations along with nearly 35,000 real estate investors/owners.  A strategic priority for the organization is to ensure that comprehensive metrics programs are in place for each CB operations group, enabling continuous improvements in efficiency, control, profitability, and the client experience.  This high-visibility Operations Analyst role will join a global Management Reporting & Analytics group, aligning to a specific CB business and becoming a key partner for the leadership team.  The Analyst will learn core business processes and engage with managers, Finance teams, and other stakeholders to lead the progression of a metrics & business analysis agenda.  Initial efforts will focus on capacity and activity based costing programs.


Primary Responsibilities for this role are:



  • Provide dedicated analytical & reporting support for operations leaders, focusing on initiatives that will enable improvements in planning, efficiency, controls, and the client experience

  • Develop a deep understanding of operations systems and processes in order to extract insights from existing data while identifying and recommending IT enhancements to improve data quality

  • Define and manage a detailed employee and operations activity taxonomy

  • Conduct time studies for each key process and manage ongoing time study refresh in response to material process changes

  • Develop an operations volume capacity and forecasting model to ensure appropriate staffing levels in anticipation of expected volume patterns

  • Interface with finance teams and data partners to translate capacity model, taxonomy, and volumes into activity-based cost allocations at the client level

  • Define, monitor, and report key operational metrics (KPIs); implement and manage balanced scorecards at the employee, team, and department levels

  • Prepare a monthly Executive Management Report (EMR) business review presentation

Required Qualifications are:



  • 7+ years of total experience within MIS/Finance/Operations Management roles.  Completion of a formal Operations Analyst Development Program or Management Consulting experience a plus.  Commercial Banking product and operations knowledge preferred

  • Proven experience delivering timely, high quality, senior manager-level reporting and analysis from diverse, complex data sources.  Attention to detail a must with focus on executive quality presentation

  • Excellent communication, project management, and client partnership ability

  • Advanced-level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, Pivot Tables, Access, VBA, PowerPoint) and in SQL query development

  • Experience developing complex business analysis models, preferably in support of volume capacity and forecasting initiatives

  • Exposure to one or more Business Intelligence toolsets and database platforms: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau , Analysis Services (SSAS), Qlikview, Business Objects, SAS, Crystal, R, SQL/Oracle/Teradata, etc

  • BS/BA required; quantitative focus / advanced study a plus

  • Activity Based Costing experience a plus

  • Hours:  Core hours are 8:00AM - 5:00PM

  • Pay Rate: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour

  • Employment Type: contract
