Our client’s Corporate Staff group is looking to fill multiple FMLA Case Manager Consultant positions at one of their Chicago locations. The ideal candidate will make routine decisions and determines proper action based on experience within the limits of policy and procedure. They will handle difficult situations when dealing with employees, HRBPs, and managers. They will also have knowledge of the Family Medical Leave (FML), state and local leave acts and company policies and procedures with the ability to apply that knowledge. In addition, the ideal candidate will generally make decisions independently but will defer to supervisors on complex cases. Responsibilities The Human Resources Assistant - Benefits Specialist will be responsible for:
- Receive case assignments in the appropriate DMS system
- Review case notes and contact employee to verify and obtain additional information
- Make additional contacts to obtain information as needed
- Interpret information in accordance with the applicable leave laws to make leave determination regarding eligibility and the ability to certify time under the appropriate leave law.
- Review previous time away and calculate FMLA, state and local leave law time remaining/available for use
- Notify employee of approval or denial of FMLA, state and local leave law.
- Generate letter of approval or denial to be sent to the employee
- Update case notes with additional information and approval or denial of FMLA, state and local leave law
- Respond to inquiries regarding cases
- Review all STD denials to determine eligibility for FMLA, state and local leave law
- Mange and track those cases eligibility is reached during an existing denied leave.
- Other duties as assigned J2WAFCB1
Job Requirements
Skills/ Competencies: The ideal Human Resources Assistant - Benefits Specialist will possess these skills:
- At least two years of telephonic claims administration experience in the field of FMLA or Integrated Disability Management
- Strong communication and customer service skills Strong workload management skills
- Strong team and interpersonal skills
- Respect for confidentiality of information
- Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Office suite of programs and standard call center resource programs
- At least two years’ experience using a leave administration, time and attendance and payroll systems Additional Details:
- Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 10:30AM-7PM
- Employment Type: long-term contract
