The chosen candidate will work closely with the Corporate AML Investigation Unit which is responsible for money laundering and terrorist financing cases and projects. The successful candidate needs to have:




  • Strong investigative skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Willingness to work cases across the various lines of business

  • Ability to adapt easily and quickly to change

  • Ability to demonstrate extensive commercial card client knowledge

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and to observe the highest degree of confidentiality in the handling of information received in the course of their responsibilities

     



Responsibilities



The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for:




  • Conduct periodic internal account/customer reviews to identify potentially suspicious activity

  • Completely and accurately document steps taken through the investigation process

  • Interface with bankers and Relationship Managers to obtain information related to their client's transaction activity

  • Work with internal groups to ensure consistent understanding of requirements

  • Function as a key contributor with demonstrated knowledge of OFAC/AML/KYC issues, as well as broader functional knowledge

  • Prepare case referrals to the Corporate Investigators to ensure Suspicious Activity Reports are files in compliance with established regulatory guidelines and time frames

  • Interview customers when applicable

  • Communicate findings to management

  • Escalate cases to law enforcement

  • Effectively obtain information and assistance from appropriate law enforcement agencies, peer banks, and other external groups on AML issues and cases

  • Participate in the development of goals and execution of strategies within the function or department

  • Operate under direct supervision of the Operations Management, and may at times receive guidance from a Sr. Compliance or Operations Officer



 



Skills/ Competencies



The ideal Compliance Analyst will possess any of these skills:5+ years experience in compliance management within the consumer and/or commercial lending environment.




  • 2+ years in an investigative position or unit

  • Strong knowledge of OFAC regulations

  • Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data, decipher higher risk attributes (transactional, geographical, product, customer type, etc.) and disposition appropriately

  • Strong self starter, capable of working under minimum supervision

  • Adept to multitasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment

  • Results oriented team player

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills



 



Additional Details




  • Hours:  Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM

  • Employment Type: long-term contract
